Indoor Air Quality and Mold Assessment Services
Environmental Testing and Management provides a full range of indoor air quality, mold and other biological contaminate services including:
Surveying for the presence of chemicals (carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, particulates) present in the building envelope that may be contributing to poor indoor air quality.
Surveying for the presence of mold, fungi, or other bacterial contamination suspected or visibly present in the building envelope.
Investigating moisture and humidity issues within the building.
Conducting testing as necessary to identify and evaluate contaminant levels.
Designing appropriate remediation action to remove biological growth present and to prevent future re-growth.
Conducting project management of the remediation project to act as the building owner’s representative to insure all mold growth is remediated in accordance with specification stipulations and to prevent the spread of contamination beyond the remediation site.
Conducting air sampling before, during and after the project to document successful remediation.
Assisting building owners in explaining results and remediation actions, including any follow-up to document successful resolution, to building occupants or employees.
Providing litigation support for cases involving mold growth and/or water damage to building components or personal exposure and subsequent effects to occupants.
ETM has conducted inspections for mold in commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial facilities. ETM has designed numerous remediation projects and provided the air sampling necessary to document all goals set for successful remediation have been attained.
It is important to note that mold remediation requires a multi-pronged approach to ensure ultimate success in reclaiming a clean indoor air environment. Excess moisture may enter a building through a leak, flooding, improper grading, a burst pipe, HVAC overflow, excess condensation due to improper ventilation, etc. ETM can assist in identifying and addressing the root cause of a water intrusion episode prior to actual remediation (if this is not done, the mold will simply re-bloom as conditions become conducive to the particular mold’s needs).
ETM also provides expert witness testimony for complex mold growth cases. In addition to being a Certified Industrial Hygienist, Andrew Schauder is also certified as an expert witness in both federal level courts and several state courts, including South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Louisiana.
